Create & Hibernate with me this winter
What's cooking for Behind the Studio Door in December and beyond
Alright! Hello again, I’m in your inbox two days in a row because I’m announcing the plan for what’s coming to this little corner of the internet in January!
Up until this point, Substack has been a space where I have focused on lot of my own processing with writing, and sporadically.
Now, I’m ready to shift the focus away from just me and really cultivate a sense of community here where we can ALL have an opportunity to express/deepen our creative practices. Winter is the perfect time for it, because the soft animal of our body is asking us to slow down and turn inward, and creative practices will help you do that in a way that feels good for you.
Here’s the plan:
January 1st I’m starting a 31 day challenge called “Create & Hibernate” where I am committing to sit down every day for the same amount of time and cultivate my winter creative practices. I’m making a cozy blanket fort here on Substack for us, come snuggle! I’d love to do this with community and reciprocity, so this will be an offering for paid subscribers.
You can join for only $6/mo or $60 for the ENTIRE YEAR. Imagine having a community of believing mirrors to hold you and to check-in with as we all cultivate our creativity together - DREAMY.
There will be journal prompts, daily check-ins and a beginning of month/end of month Zoom meetup!
This is not going to be like your normal “let’s push ourselves in January!!” bullshit. We’re going to practice slowing down and being with our inner landscape in more intentional and creative ways.
Also - starting this week, I am committing to one free Behind the Studio Door newsletter every Tuesday, where I will share whats happening in the studio, what’s inspiring me, the challenges I’m working through, and ending with practical tips for getting playful with your own creativity.
Create & Hibernate will include two Zoom meetups, one on Monday, January 1st from 12-1:30pm EST and a closing circle on Tuesday, January 30th, 12-1:30pm EST.
For now, this is how I'm thinking we'll structure it, but we'll adapt as we go:
We'll kick things off with some volunteers sharing their creative intentions for the month
I'll start with a few thoughts and some poetry/ a reading to inspire us
Then, we'll open the floor to questions and discussions and see where the flow takes us
You in?
Our opening circle for Create & Hibernate will be on Monday, January 1st from 12-1:30pm EST and here is the Zoom link:
